OUR STORY


Vontastic represents the lifelong experiences and dream of one man to help unite the people of the world through communication. It's a lofty goal, but as the saying goes "Think globally and act locally" and so it is with Vontastic. The company was founded in July of 2003 and started life as a competitive local telephone company in California specializing in no-frills local and long distance phone service with a concept that surrounded giving the cost of calling special international destinations to customers at the wholesale carrier rate. The idea was simple enough: the more people can communicate with their loved ones around the world, the smaller the world becomes and the more tolerance and hope we can spread.

As fate and the political power of the large local phone companies would have it, local competition in the telephone industry was effectively killed off in 2005, sticking consumers and small businesses with the all too familiar surcharges, overcharges and high prices. But a storm had been brewing since 2001 as VOIP or "Voice Over Internet Protocol" became technically feasible to roll out to customers in large volumes. Immediately after forming, the company launched its competitive local phone business and Jayme Amirie, the founder, began building Vontastic.

There was one critical choice that had to be made at the outset; try to use existing systems to run Vontastic or build them from scratch? Armed with the experience of the Internet boom era and the relationships to pull teams together to build from scratch, Jayme began architecting and building Vontastic in June of 2004. Building and owning its own technology would not only allow Vontastic to "stand on its own feet" but make it a more nimble competitor as well. And of course the concept of wholesale international rates remained central to the business model. The first customer was set up on Vontastic in January of 2005.

Customers were initially sold through traditional telecommunications agents who are mostly telemarketing companies. This way of selling did not fit with the goal of bringing the world closer together; after all, how do you do that when all the customers are strangers? Additionally, the telemarketing of Vontastics's services proved to be ineffective. Jayme had told everyone from the outset that the future of Vontastic was to stand on its own feet and grow organically through networking, through warm selling, through word of mouth. Vontastic began its Direct Selling channel in March of 2006.

Today Vontastic is a highly successful Broadband Phone Company serving specialty international callers with unparalleled quality replacement telephone services in the U.S. and Canada. Vontastic will eventually offer a wide range of voice and video services in a wide range of countries. We look forward to serving you as a customer or Distributor in our globally growing family.
